L'OREAL Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss: First impressions and Swatches

Hello Beautiful People,

Look what I have here today: L'OREAL Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss.

Wait...what??

Well, this was my first reaction too when I saw them on Purplle.com. Just look at them, they look so cute.

In this sudden flare of crayon-like lipbalms from all the Beauty companies (like Revlon, Bourjois, Clinique), L'oreal has come out with these super-cute twist-up crayon lipbalms to keep up with the trend.
These were launched first in the UK a few months back and they are finally here in India now. However, UK has a lot more colours compared to us, at present but I am sure the nice L'oreal people will bring more colours soon (L'oreal, are you listening??  ^_^)

So, as soon as I saw these cute things in Purplle, I decided I had to have them. Well, at 400 bucks, why can't I indulge in them a little, hai na?? :D

There are 3 colours available currently:
- Lychee Lust
- Passion Fruit Perfect
- Peach Pleasure

In the UK, they have other shades like Guava, Watermelon, Pomegranate, Dragon fruit, etc along with the above ones. :(  Check HERE.

Glam Shine Balmy Gloss: Passion Fruit Perfect on top and Peach Pleasure below

I got Peach Pleasure and Passion Fruit Perfect for myself (Lychee Lust is a close dupe of Revlon Balm stain in Honey Douce, which I already have.)

Now these are just the first impressions here, I will be reviewing each colour in detail within a couple of days.

So, check out the pics below :)
(uhm...slightly picture heavy, with a lot of unnecessary pictures) :/

Peach Pleasure

Passion Fruit Perfect

The balm in it's "full" glory :D

Uh..acting a tad bit loony here, but well, proof to show that there is 3.5cms of product :P

How big is the balm???

Oh! I can just show it this way for reference!! :|

Ingredients list for the Health freaks :)

Swatches: 1 swipe of the balm

2 coats used for making the hearts on my palm

No No...not a badly clicked pic. This is to show you the shimmers in the balm

Can you see the shimmers in this one??

Condition of the balm after the swatches

Now, that I am done with all the pictures, I would just like to remind you all that detailed reviews are coming up, so don't forget to check back soon :)

After using these balms once, all I can say is that they are very soft and easy to apply. They come in a twist-up, cute packaging that retracts. They even stay for 3-4 hours. The only issue might be the amount of glitter and shimmer in these balms. There is a lot of it!! So, they might not be great for day-wear, unless you don't mind a little shimmer on your pout, glistening in the sun.

So...are you planning to get them, yet? At 400 bucks, they are the cheapest chubby sticks that are available currently. Let me know... :)

Till next time,

RIZ... <3

Avon Senses Deodorants: Reflection and Mystique

Avon, for me, is the kind of brand that one can’t really trust much on. Since, I can never test the products because of the whole brochure-consultant thing, getting something from Avon means having to trust my instincts and taking a good amount of risk before placing an order and then praying for it to turn out at least better than one can hope for. I have been disappointed quite a few times after getting my order, since there is always some sort of colour difference in the actual product and the product swatch picture that they have in their brochures. However, these deodorants from Avon’s Senses range (inspired by aromatherapy) turned out to be a great buy and one that I wouldn’t mind purchasing over and over again.

I have with me, two of the four variants of deodorants that Avon Senses contain: Reflection and Mystique.

Reflection: described as Peaceful and Soothing, this deo is supposed to be a floral powdery fragrance infused with lavender, water lily and herbs. When you spray it, you get an immediate whiff of lavender, which is not strong and is soon masked by other flowers. The fragrance is so mild and beautiful, that you can’t help but fall in love with it. This is my favourite of the two.

Mystique: described as Sensual and Romantic, this deo contains a ‘romantic’ fusion of jasmine and exotic roses to formulate a floral woody fragrance. It essentially smells of roses with a tiny hint of jasmine.

Quantity and Price: 150ml, costs Rs.169 (it’s cheaper during offers).

Both the deos are extremely mild-smelling, they do not burn your skin and last for more than half a day. On regular usage, these deos last about 3-4 weeks, depending on the usage.

Final Vedict: Next time you are placing an order with your Avon representative, make sure you try out one of these.

DBB Score: 4.5/5.

Have you ever used these deos?

Try the other variants from the range: Lagoon and Sunset. They also have talcs and shower gels.

Love,

Maybelline Water Shine Liquid Diamond Lipglosses: Reviews and Swatches

“Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky”

Okay, now those were lines from Rihanna’s Diamonds.

Ever wondered how one can shine like diamonds? Do you like rub on shiny glitters on your face or highlight your cheeks till they glow? Hmmm….well, when it comes to shining like diamonds for your lips, Maybelline seems to have come up with an answer!

Presenting to you Maybelline Watershine Liquid Diamonds, the very first lipgloss I ever used was from this brand (actually, that’s not entirely true. The first lipgloss I tried was when I was like 6 or something and my aunt had got this tiny tube of pink gloss from London. It tasted better than it looked, and I am pretty sure I glossed my stomach lining more than my lips with it). Okay, moving on, Oh! Yeah…so I was saying that these were the first glosses I used and surely the first glosses many of you used as well.

Maybelline Water Shine Liquid Diamonds (Top-Bottom: Pink Ruby, Coral Sunset, Crystal Amethyst, Pink Glitters)

Currently, I have four of these. Will be reviewing them for you. I love all the shades and they are really unique. These are the shades that I would repurchase over and over again. As far as the other shades are concerned, you can find dupes in any other brand.

These glosses come in the regular gloss containers, with a soft doe-foot tipped wand. The containers are really tiny and that kinda looks cute.

Quantity: 3ml (enough to last you a good 5-6 months with regular usage)
Price: Rs.210/-

What I Love about these:
·         They are super-cute. So tiny and sturdy, they fit right into your jean’s pocket or into your purse or wallet.
·         They are affordable. Yeah, Maybelline has been increasing the value of these for sometime now. But still, they are quite affordable.
·         They last for a decent 3-4hours, provided you don’t eat or drink something.
·         They are available everywhere. Literally everywhere, be in online shopping sites or malls, or local cosmetic stores.
·         There are so many colours to choose from. You can surely find your pick.

What I Don’t Love about these:
·         Wish they stayed a little longer. But honestly, for the price, they are okay!
·         These glosses are kinda sticky. One hawa ka jhonka and your loose hair will nicely come and stick onto your lips :/

Coming down to the individual shades now:

PINK RUBY: this is an everyday-pink colour that will suit all skin tones. It has these tiny gold glitters which make the shade look really pretty. It is not sheer and hence the colour shows up beautifully on the lips. Pigmented lips might require more than 2 coats to appreciate the colour. A must-have from the range, trust me! You will not be disappointed.
CORAL SUNSET: Is it a coral shade? Not really. Does it remind me of sunset? Nope! Then why did I buy this colour? ‘Coz it’s so unique. I have not seen a shade like this in any other brand, and it looks very pretty when swatched. It’s basically a flesh-tinted gloss with specks of gold and silver glitter and comes off shimmery with no tint when you apply it. I have slightly pigmented lips and this shade does not show up on my lips. I will not be buying this shade again.

CRYSTAL AMETHYST: Look at the swatch…isn’t it absolutely gorgeous?! When I first bought this shade, I wasn’t really into it much. I just purchased it because it was purple, and I thought this would be a change from all the pink glosses I keep hoarding. However, this is one of my current favourite glosses. It is a gorgeous purple-hued gloss with loads of silver shimmer. Also, it is superbly pigmented. One swipe brings out the colour beautifully on my lips. I use 2 coats during the evenings. Another must-have, if you are into purple glosses.

PINK GLITTERS: this shade is all about the glitters. It gives your lips no hint of colour but oodles of silver and golden glitter. I love this shade, especially for parties. The glitter is not chunky or over-the-top. One swipe of this, and your lips will definitely glitter like diamonds!
#another similar shade from this range is Strawberry Carats. It has the same amount of glitter, but on the slightly dark pink base.

Last Word: these glosses, from Maybelline are one of my favourite glosses ever since I can remember. They are pocket-friendly (in terms of both Size and the green notes :P), they last long and they have many shades to choose from. If you are a gloss person, on a rather fixed budget, then Maybelline Liquid Diamonds are the answer to your Shine-like-a-diamond Moments!

Another pic to bring out the colours better:
L-R: Pink Ruby, Coral Sunset, Crystal Amethyst, Pink Glitters

Premium Eau de Cologne: a must-have!!!

Hi :)

I love the feeling that I get every time I come out of the shower. It's cool and I smell nice and things just seem a lot clearer :D
I usually follow up every bath with a body lotion all over my body (if I am extremely lazy, I just apply lotion on my arms and legs, from knee downwards), a moisturiser for my face, lip balm...and...Premium Eau de Cologne.

Most of you must have come across this product in the supermarkets or maybe even used it yourself. For those who didn't, let me tell you, you are missing out on something rather big. This cologne has a refreshing fragrance, it stays on all day, battling all those naughty bacteria that try to have a party in your underarms and other nips and cracks. I use this cologne everyday after a shower and trust you me, even after 12 hours, I can still smell the cologne on me.

For those who are unaware, using deos have their own set of side-effects. They burn your skin, may not last long and some are pretty expensive, if you are a regular deo-user. To counter all these problems, this cologne works just perfectly. It will not burn your skin, it lasts long and hello! It costs 85 bucks for 100ml., and that lasts for a really long time. The only downfall might be that, it doesn't really do much in the anti-perspirant department. If you have issues with heavy sweating, you might have to use an anti-perspirant (preferably a roll-on) with this.

Well, that concludes this post, it was a short one, beacause I basically wanted to bring this product to everyone's notice. It is my must-have product and once you use it, I am sure, most of you will not be disappointed.
So, go ahead! Say bye-bye to those bacteria and hello to smelling fresh all day :))

Until next time,

The Cheapest and Best Nail Enamels Ever: EQUATE Nail Enamels

Hey everyone,

EID   MUBARAK!!!!

I am in a very colourful mood today. It's very rare that we get a holiday, but today, thanks to Eid, we have a holiday and i am superrrrr-happpyyyyyy :))
I have been awfully busy and have hardly posted in the past couple of weeks. However, I have quite a few pending posts and they should be out in the coming week.

Coming down to today's review, it is on Equate Nail Paints....remember the Rs.18/- nailpaints that I had hauled....well, yeah..those! You can refresh your memory about the haul HERE and check out my review on the Davis Nail Paints, as well :)

I found the Equate Nail Paints in this supermarket near my hostel and they are available in quite a few colours. Everytime I go there, they have new colours on display! *_*

What I like the most about these nail paints is that, even though they are so inexpensive, they are actually pretty decent in terms of quality and quantity. They are opaque, such that 2 coats are enough. They chip in about 4-5 days, which is okay. The consistency of most of these enamels is good, not too thick nor too runny. The brush provided is long and decent. All in all, everything about these nailpaints is pretty good.
The only thing that might piss a few people off is that they have no names, but numbers to denote the shade, which if you see, is not really a con. Oh, and drying takes a little time, around 10 minutes approximately.

I have nine of these nailpaints and without further adieu let me just swatch them for you all :D
And sorry about the messy application and the funny-shaped nails :\

A dark red shade, looks good on both fingernails and toes. Will suit everyone. I have applied 1 thick coat here.

This colour looks like neon pink in the bottle, but when you apply it, it turns out to be a very bright and pretty corally pink shade. Me lovey lovey! 2 coats applied above.

My favourite of the lot. A dupe of Lotus Herbal Grape Pop nail enamel. This is very runny and a little sheer. I have applied 3 coats here.

Turquoise blue shade with a slight sheen to it. 1 coat applied.

Classic silver nailpaint with lots of silver shimmer. 2 coats applied above.

Bright red. Dupe of  Maybelline Colorama Graus. It was a little runny. Applied 2 coats.

Not a fan of this shade. It is crammed with heaps and heaps of silver glitter. 2 coats used.

I think this was meant to be a gold shade, but it looks bronze-ish. again, lots of glitters in this one. 2 coats applied.

a copper-toned shade. Slightly runny. Apllied 2 coats above.

Do you like the shades? What's your thought about these? Have you ever come across such cheap nailpaints? Let me know in the comments section below.

Thanks,

RIZ <3
